Exchange Program in the UK

Buckswood School seniors have the opportunity to travel to the UK for a two-week exchange program, where they are fully involved in British Buckswood school life - attending classes, participating in local house activities and assemblies, representing their own school and country to the students from different countries, participating in cultural excursions (London, Brighton, Rye, etc) and carrying out special projects within the English language subject.

From the program, the school fully covers the cost of accommodation, meals, local transportation, participation in activities and excursions in the UK.

Prerequisite for entry into the program is to get the best academic rating (according to the annual results of subjects) and / or activity and outstanding achievements in school projects, house and sports life.

Model UN Program

Model UN Program is one of the flagship programs of Buckswood School. Buckswood students including 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades, who are interested in history, geography, civics, and want to develop their personal skills through this unique role play, can join the club.

·       International Relations and Diplomacy;

·       United Nations organization;

·       Modeling techniques;

·       Techniques of debate, diplomatic negotiations and effective presentation;

·       Protocol of Resolution and International Documents.

After thorough research on the above topics, students become delegates of the Youth Conference and participate in prestigious international forums held in various parts of Europe and America (Boston, New York, London, Nice-Paris, etc.).

A prerequisite for participation in an international conference is active and stable membership of the Model UN Club inside the school.

Every year, Buckswood School participates exclusively in International Model UN Programs and represents the Georgian delegation:

·       Harvard National Model UN 2020, Boston, USA, 2020.

·       The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) International Model UN  in UN Headquarters, New York, USA, 2017, 2018 and 2019;

·       London International Model UN (LIMUN 2016), London, United Kingdom, 2016;

Buckswood School delegation has won the Eastern European Best Delegation Award three times and numerous individual best delegate awrds at the UN Headquarters in New York.
